Nissan Skyline GT-R 400R – BCNR33

The GT-R 400R was a powerful, limited-production version of the BCNR33 Skyline GT-R, even more so than the V-Spec and V-Spec N1 models. It was released in November 1997, and its intent was clear from the 'R' part of its name, which stood for 'Racing’, while '400’ was its power output in hp. Nissan originally planned to produce 100 units, but ended up making only 44 units of this powerful car.
Built by the Nissan motorsport division Nismo, it featured an overbored RB26DETT engine, codenamed the RBX-GT2. This engine had more power coaxed out of it through use of polished ports, an upgraded exhaust, composite parts, a twin-plate clutch, and a more free-flowing turbo and intercooler system. Nismo, not Brembo, brake pads were fitted to the car, and aerodynamic updates were also added, such as wider fenders, side skirts, a new rear bumper, a new front bumper with larger air scoops, and a redesigned bonnet and rear spoiler made of carbon fiber. The 400R was also fitted with special Nismo 18-inch tires.
