STM boosts performance on Toyota Hilux with new HKS tuning module

November 3rd, 2010 by NZPC

Who doesn’t love the Toyota Hilux? It’s the iconic NZ ute, it’s used countrywide to move stuff and to tow stuff, like car trailers. But even with the latest most powerful diesel engines slotted into the Hilux, we all know there can always be more power. Speedtech Motorsport knows this as well, that’s why it’s now got a tuning module to extract a bit more grunt from the Hilux

The HKS FCON D provides more power and torque at the flick of a switch.  What the hell is it? The FCon D is a piggy-back module specifically designed for Toyota’s D4D 3.0 Litre Diesel Turbo engines, with applications covering the Hilux and also the Hiace van range. The FCON D improves engine performance by altering the diesel injection through the standard injectors.

The FCON D unit comes complete with an adaptor loom and once installed, the unit can be remotely activated or deactivated through an included switch harness.

STM are approved HKS Pro Dealers, and have put in the hours on the dyno, and on the road sorting out the mapping of the FCON D their own Toyota Hilux. What’s been achieved is 137 kw atw (a gain of 23% or 25.9 kw over stock).
