RIPS 240Z 3

Robbie Ward and the Rotorua Import Pro Shop 240Z is one combination that has been angling towards the NZPC 7-Second Club since the beginning of the 2008/2009 import drag racing season. Coming into the event, Robbie had driven the RB30-powered 240Z to a best of 8.05. But, with an 8.03 off the trailer on the weekend just been, that was never going to last. Not long later, Robbie was joining the very elite 7-Second Club. Eventually, after four back-to-back 7-second runs, Robbie wound up with a best of 7.89 @ 283kph. Not only did Rob, Avon and the RIPS crew join the 7-Second Club; they also nabbed the world record for RB30-powered drag vehicles. Read more about how Robbie got there in the next issue of New Zealand Performance Car magazine, on sale April 6.
