Plans in place for new Toyata budget sports car line

If Akio Toyoda wants to breathe life back into Toyota, he and his team need to overcome two major hurdles. Japan’s youth have limited interest in cars and more importantly Toyata has a falling enthusiast base.

In response there is speculation there will be a launch of a new budget-oriented vehicles that will offer a slice of sport.

However for Toyota, things don’t look very promising. Toyota’s G Sports line of products have generally focused on the Noah and Voxy minivans, and in the meantime Prius apparently has a “sports” version in the works.

Interestingly enough Toyota has recently established a sports vehicle management division, meaning it will now have a voice in the brand’s overall product planning.

It may sound promising, so look forward to next year’s auto show season where we could see this new breed of budget sports vehicles on the market (for Japan at least).
