DMC Devil May Cry is out now!!
Since the very first Devil May Cry title was released way back in 2001, the franchise has sat at the top of the pile as one of the best hack-and-slashers in the business. Over a decade and three sequels later, and Japanese publishers Capcom have turned to successful developers Ninja Theory for a complete reboot of the DmC world. Set in an alternate universe, DmC: Devil May Cry, is an entirely new game, set in a new world with a complete re-imagining of the same central characters and storyline. Although this initially upset some avid fans of the series, most are now getting very excited as we come up to the mid-January release date, thanks to what’s been revealed in some recent very interesting teasers. The new version of Dante, the main character, is younger, gaunter and generally an all-round more ruthless character. Dante wakes up from a tough night drinking to find himself in a city — Limbo — that is controlled by demons. This obviously doesn’t sit too well with the protagonist, who you then control through epic battles in a variety of settings. From what we’ve seen so far, it looks to be a big departure from the previously very static environments, with the world around you now becoming much more animated, and more threatening. Dante has access to a host of brutal upgradeable weapons, both of the bladed and gun variety, that will aid you in the classically Devil May Cry fast-paced, action-packed hack and slash battles. Pervious DmC titles have always impressed with their smooth action, deep, dark storylines and awesome, atmospheric look and sound (the metal soundtrack being our particular favourite). From what we’ve seen thus far from the reboot, DmC: Devil May Cry looks to be just as good. This is definitely one game we’ll be jamming on the rainy days at the bach this summer.
The much anticipated DMC Devil May Cry is now available for PS3 and Xbox 360 with the PC version released later this week. To celebrate the games release Capcom have given us a copy of the game to give away with a Slim Line PS3 but you will have to pick up a copy of NZPC195 on shelves February 4.
