Recently, NZPC’s Japan correspondent, Aaron Mai, headed out to catch the action from a club-style event held in the heart of Japan’s capital in Odaiba in the lead up to the Tokyo-based D1 Grand Prix drift exhibition. Two weeks later, Aaron was back in the capital to catch the action from that central city round, and we have a few of those snaps from both events here for you to enjoy.

This coming weekend, New Zealand will make an impression on the D1GP Japanese series when our own Mad Mike Whiddett hits Japan for the first of three D1GP rounds he will contest this year in his MADBUL Mazda RX-7. We can only imagine the impact this car will have on the Japanese fans when they turn out to hear the screaming sounds of the naturally aspirated quad rotor.
