January 15th, 2013 by Marcus

Cody’s D1NZ National Drifting Championship moves to Tauranga’s Baypark for the first time in the championships history this coming weekend. The 300m metre concrete purpose built track is currently under construction¬† inside the Baypark arena, and will feature something¬† unique within the championship: a left hand bend on the entry. The event will take place over both Saturday and Sunday, with Saturday playing host to D1NZ pro practice and D1NZ Pro-Am Top 16. Sunday will feature the Pro-Am top 8 and the main event the D1NZ Top 32. This is also Round Two of the BP Ultimate Triple Crown so not only are valuable championship points up for grabs the triple crown is also in the back of the drivers minds.

There is also plenty of off track action planned including a Aden’s Tyres/Metal Mulisha FMX Jam featuring New Zealand’s best Nick Franklin and Mich McHardy. And the Epic Eyewear D1NZ Model Search 2013. Tickets are $10 on Saturday and $20 on Sunday, with kids under 5 free. There is also very limited VIP passes for Sunday still available for $50. Tickets can be pre purchased from Tickemaster or at the gate on the day
