Cover Girl – Rosie – Issue 131

Name: Rosie

Age: 19

Occupation: Sales Coordinator

Hi Rosie, how’s the shoot going for you so far?

It’s been a long day, but it’s good fun!

Shite, you are tiny! You do all your shopping at Pumpkin Patch?

Ha! No no, I’m a Supre sort of girl. Fair enough, I’ll stop being a ball bag now.

So where are you from?

Whangarei of course — born and bred! I just drove down here for the day.

So you road-tripped it down just for the photo shoot today, then? Commitment — I like it. What is Whangas like?

Well, you really have to make your own fun in Whangarei. There really is no night life to speak of, so it’s all house parties or bonfires down on the beach. Everybody knows everybody, which can be a good thing and a bad thing.

Do you come down here to the big smoke very often to get away from it all?

Yeah, we come down a bit to see friends and hit the town. I think I’ll either move to Auckland or perhaps the Gold Coast soon. Whangarei is great and all that, but there is so much more out there I want to do and see.

Ah, that old chestnut, small town girl goes to the big city. So partying aside, what do you like to do for fun?

The beach! In summer that is basically all we do, just go to the beach every spare moment we have. It’s a good life!

So being from those parts you probably know all the local drifters like Justin Rood, JT, Gaz and Fanga.

Yep, I know them all. I also do promo work at the drifting rounds and got a spot in the Drift Corp calendar this year, so I know them pretty well.

How do you find promo work? Does it ever bother you that you are being paid to be ogled at?

No, that sort of thing doesn’t bother me in the slightest; I don’t even notice. Promo work is great fun; the one downside can be the cold though. Very little clothing combined with freezing temperatures makes for a very unhappy Rosie. But I guess that’s what we get paid for, so you just have to suck it up and get on with the job.

Awesome, thanks for your time Rosie.

All good guys, thanks!
