Cover Girl – Melissa – 149

Name: Melissa
Age: 21
Occupation: Med student
Hey Mel. We normally do the interviews in the afternoon, but this time it’s early in the morning and the shoot is about to begin — are you nervous?
No, not really, I’ve done a few of these before so it’s pretty normal for me.
It seems a strange thing to find normal! What sort of work have you done previously?
Lots of different things. Recently I’ve been over in Australia doing some shoots for ZOO magazine and that sort of thing.
Nice! How did you get into this line of work?
A photographer randomly contacted me through Myspace, of all things, and it went from there.
Myspace! No one uses that anymore! I hear you are a fifth-year med student, which clearly makes you a whole lot smarter than I am. Why is it so hard to find smart and pretty girls such as yourself?
It’s not that hard. Maybe you just aren’t looking in the right places!
Where should we all be looking then? Is there some kind of club that I’m not aware of?
Well, probably not in bars, for a start. Maybe you should sign back up to Myspace. I don’t know, university could be a good idea!
Be honest, is your life just like Grey’s Anatomy?
It’s really not even close!
You are looking at people’s insides all day long; surely that would ruin any thought of romance in your life?
Well, blood and guts don’t bother me at all. I don’t know about romance, but they do say that surgeons are the most likely people to turn into serial killers, so I don’t know if that is promising.
What are you planning to specialise in?
I’ve always wanted to be a plastic surgeon.
Why is that, is it the money and the fame?
Well, the money is a factor, sure, but I’d also like to be able to help burn victims and people like that.
Lastly, I’m told you have a little chihuahua named Tinker. Why would you do that? Don’t you just lose the little rat-dog the whole time?
My friend lost it the night before last, actually! We were up all night looking for her, but found her eventually.
Well, that’s a relief. Thanks for coming in today Melissa, and have a good shoot.
