Name: Kelly

Occupation: Business Owner

Location: Auckland

Hi Kelly, how was the shoot?

Hey, it was good, thanks!

So you weren’t nervous at all? Most girls tend to have a few nerves.

Not really, no. I haven’t really done much of this sort of thing before, so I just took it as it came and enjoyed it.

What made you want to do a bit of modelling?

Well, I was in a long-term relationship for years and when that broke up I thought, why not? I could do what I liked. I was asked to do some work one day and took them up on the offer. It’s out of my comfort zone, it’s fun and the money doesn’t hurt, either.

You don’t seem to take it too seriously, which is nice. What are you serious about?

Absolutely, modelling is just for fun. I’m a little more serious when it comes to work. My friend and I have started a business recently and so I’m really just focusing on that at the moment.\

A girl with drive, that’s what we like to see. Speaking of which, you are from out west, does that mean you were born with petrol in the veins?

Not really, no. I think I missed that whole car bug. I’m not really a full-blown Westie type.

You look very rock chick in your photoshoot though, is that an accurate portrayal?

I guess so. I’ve always liked live music and good bands, but I’m really open to anything I can dance to, to be honest. Oh, no emo music though; that just annoys me.

Oh come on Kelly, how could you not love the most depressing music in the world? Next up, I hear you write quite a popular blog, what is the story there?

Yes, I write one with my partner in crime, Steph, which is an Auckland-based night scene site.

What do you blog about?

It’s a single-girls-on-the-prowl type of thing. We go to events, club nights and things like that.

You seem pretty up with this modern social network world, what do you make of the whole thing?

Sites like Facebook are very useful networking tools, but to be honest, I think they have their dangers. People spend too much time on there and put too much personal stuff online for the world to see. You never know when that is going to come back and bite you.

Agreed. I’d hate to think of all the terrible photos of me floating around cyberspace! Thanks for your time Kelly, and good luck with the business.
