Hey Jess, how was the shoot?

It was good thanks. I had fun!

Where have you come from today for the shoot?

I’ve come down from Matakana, a little place about an hour north of Auckland.

A country girl! What was it like growing up out in the wops?

It was great. I grew up riding motorbikes, getting messy and just generally being a kid.

Would you have rather grown up in the city?

No, not at all. I love the country!

I hear you were down at the Hamilton 400 recently. Do the cars interest you at all or were you there purely for work?

Oh, I’m a car person, I always have been. I’ve been going to sprint car events at Western Springs for years. If there is a promo job involving a car event, I’m all over it.

Doing promo at bogan events like the sprints or the V8 Supercars must make for some interesting moments, what is it like doing that sort of work?

It’s fine, mostly! Of course, not all guys are gentlemen.

Yes, well, at the end of the day you are being paid to be looked at. Does that ever bother you?

No, not really, it only bothers me when I get ass-grabbed or something like that. But I haven’t had any really bad experiences. Plus I met some really nice firemen on the weekend.

Firemen! I don’t get it. What is the appeal for girls?

I don’t know, the uniform? They are strong and can save you?

Oh. So pretty much everything I’m not then! Excellent. Now, you can’t do this sort of work forever. What lies ahead for Jess? I hear you are quite ambitious.

I’m studying a Bachelor of Business and Marketing Management at the moment, so the eventual plan is to go overseas, bring the experience back to New Zealand and run my own company.

I like a girl with a solid game plan. Good luck!
