Hey Avianca, how was the shoot today?

Really good. It’s my first modelling job, though, so it was all new to me.

Were you really nervous?

Actually no, not that nervous, I just felt dumb because I didn’t really know what I was doing. But I got used to it.

Don’t worry, you did well. You’re quite tall, were you always a tall kid?

Yeah, I’ve always been pretty up there.

Did other kids tease you about it at school?

No actually, I never really got any grief about it at all.

Oh. You probably would have if you’d gone to school with me; I still give news editor Lynskey ar*eholes for his excessive height each and every day.

Well I guess it’s lucky we never went to school together then, isn’t it?

For you, maybe. I’m noticing an accent, where are you from?

I moved over here from South Africa two-and-a-half years ago. Believe it or not, I barely spoke a word of English when I got here, only Afrikaans.

That’s a pretty good effort; your English is perfect now. What’s it like living in South Africa? It seems like a pretty shady place to roll.

Yeah, it really is. It’s not completely lawless but sometimes it nearly gets that way. Everyone just goes crazy: murder, theft, car jackings it’s a real jungle.
