Hi Alyssia, first off, give us a little background. Who are you?

Hey guys, my name is Alyssia. I’m of Maori, Chinese and European descent a true fruit salad. I guess I’d consider myself to be fun, spontaneous, athletic and a health-conscious young woman. I love to travel, I am ambitious, highly motivated and want to do as much as possible in my lifetime. I love meeting new people and taking on new challenges.

Whoa! it sounds like you’re at a job interview or something! Where did you grow up?

I was born in Lower Hutt but I grew up in Auckland. I finished off high school in the States as a foreign exchange student when I was 16.

What is New Zealand like compared to the US?

New Zealand is a really beautiful country and the people here are so much more down to earth I think.

What do you like to do to unwind?

I listen to a lot of music, or I’ll go for a drive or have a few glasses of wine with good company.

Sounds classy. What about the opposite, what really stresses you out?

Money mostly, also my family can be a little stressful at times!

I happened to catch you on Jono’s New Show on C4 last night rolling down a hill at impressive speeds in a Zorb. What was that all about?

Oh that! I got asked to participate with Jono and the crew it was a pretty fun day in Rotorua.

I’ve never been in a Zorb, what is it like?

It’s not what you expect. It’s kind of like going down on a really fast hydroslide. I love adventure so it was right up my alley.

Have you done any of the other classic Kiwi adventure-type stuff like bungy jumping?

Like I say, adventure is my middle name. I did the Nevis bungy in Queenstown, I’ve skydived and I’m a qualified scuba diver. Who knows what I’ll do next?

Why the fascination with adventure?

I love the thrill, the challenge and the sense of adventure that it gives me I think.
