Hi Alana, how are you? How was the shoot?

I’m great thanks. The shoot was a lot of fun but it’s been a long day.

First off, if you don’t mind me asking, what is your ethnic background?

My parents are from Hong Kong, so I’m Chinese. I’m 100 per cent New Zealand born and bred though!

Where are you based at the moment?

I live out in East Auckland.

How do you find living in the 09?

I love it here! I think Auckland is the best place to live in New Zealand, to be honest. It’s got everything you need, plus it’s a good place to be if you are planning to get into the fashion industry like I am.

Oh, yes, I see here that you are studying fashion design at AUT.  What kind of clothing are you planning to get into when you graduate?

I think I will start with girls’ streetwear, then, when I’ve gained a bit of experience, go into guys’ clothing and higher fashion stuff, too.

Why do you think girls are so much more into fashion and make-up than guys?

I’m not sure. For some reason we just seem to care more about our appearance. Of course, there are always exceptions to the rule.

Ah yes, the famed metrosexual man. I spied a pretty hot looking Lexus out in the car park, that wouldn’t be yours would it?

Yep, that’s mine. It’s a late model IS250. I haven’t modified it or anything like that; I think it’s perfect just as it is.

What do you like most about the car?

Mostly the way it looks. It’s sleek, aggressive and just all round well designed. I have a big appreciation for things like that. It doesn’t hurt that it’s a very nice car to drive, either.

Have you owned anything else before this one?

Yes, I’ve had a Volkswagen Golf GTI and another IS250.

Another IS250? What happened to the first one?

Let’s just say I had a bit of a disagreement with a letterbox!
