Hot Boxin’ down in Hamiltron

First of all, I need to get something out of the way. I love Toyota bB’s. I think they are well designed, well made,  practical and most importantly, have heaps of potential as a seriously cool daily driver, especially now that the whole flush fitment movement is gaining momentum. Go on, keep hatin’:

A few months ago, the missus and I went out shopping looking for a replacement for her shit-arse late model, always breaking down, flower in the dash, VW Beetle. We were looking for a bB and randomly came across a black example, fresh from Japan that was lowered, but still rocking standy wheels. That had to change, so a few weeks ago, we jumped in the box and drove down to see Bruce @ Mag and Turbo Hamilton. Bruce ordered us some DTM Old Schools, which are actually just copies of Works old Equip wheel.

The little buggers measure 15×8, and rock a pretty aggressive +25 offset. We decided to fit 205/55/15′s, which was a good compromise between stretch and practicality, after all, this is a girls daily driver.

Bruce also filled the tyres with pure nitrogen using his new machine, which unlike other cheap arse systems, purges all the oxygen out of the tyre before filling it up. It increases tyre life, fuel economy, improves the ride and reduces the risk of tyre failure by 75%. Go here to find out more, it even calculates how much money you can save by using nitro. Sweet deal!

While it was there, Randall @ Elite Tint sorted out the front windows. These guys are good cats to deal with, and really friendly too. They do Hamilton and Auckland as far as I’m aware and I whole heartedly recommend them. Cheers Randall!

After getting the car sorted, we caught up with ex-cover car owner Jordan Mayall at his sweet pad and took a few photos. Now all the car needs is coilovers and some cheeky spacers at the rear for that hellaflush look.

Funny: Yea, it uses the term fag, you’re all grownups, you’ll be ok.
